Welcome to Time For Yourself, LLC! TFY was created in 2002 to offer massage therapy. I was a wife and mom of 3 young sons. I graduated from the Stillpoint program, learning massage and the importance of self-care. I worked on clients and watched them transform. I worked on my children to help them calm down, focus, and improve their health. My children learned to relax and received better grades in school. They were able to play sports to release excess energy safely and without injury. I continued to learn about healing our bodies through Myofascial Release through the John Barnes, PT techniques. I was fascinated to learn how connective tissue plays a role in imbalances of our bodies and how to create balance once again.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer). I was 36 years old. I intended to beat it and decided that I would do everything to do so. I received chemo biweekly. I later had surgery and radiation. I hated the way I felt and never wanted to feel that way again. I decided to go back to school. I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in 2013. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Management in 2016 from the California University of Pennsylvania. My business expanded to offer Personal and Small Group Training. I am a Certified TRX Coach and the only Certified TRX facility. I am a Spartan SGX Coach and offer training for obstacle course racing. I am also Rock Tape Certified, providing another opportunity to address fascia and decrease pain and inflammation.
Training made me feel strong and healthy. Massage helped me to feel grounded and learn how to center. I knew there was another piece of the puzzle that I was missing. Nutrition plays a vital role in keeping us healthy, and it could not be left out. I continued with school and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an M.S. in Nutrition and Human Performance in 2018 from Logan University. I received a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition from the Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2021. I have learned the importance of individualized nutrition through whole foods. I encourage you to see how using all three modalities can help you create the healthiest and best version of yourself as an individual. The three gears were born. I realized that all three are just as important as the other and work best when used together. I am still a wife and mother. I am also blessed to be a grandmother. We continue to teach our family self-care and how to stay healthy.
